It’s time once again for the Watcher’s Council’s ‘Weasel Of The Week’ nominations, where we pick our choices to compete for the award of the famed Golden Weasel to a public figure who particularly deserves to be slimed and mocked for his or her dastardly deeds during the week. Every Tuesday morning, tune in for the Weasel of the Week nominations!

Here are this weeks’ nominees…

MTV’s Racialist Illegal Alien Commentator Jose Antonio Vargas!

The Noisy Room: My nomination this week is Jose Antonio Vargas/MTV. Boy, this isn’t how I remember MTV. This is just sick. Racism wasn’t something most of us even thought of until Obama came on the scene. Now, the Marxists are creating chaos in the streets and trying to push a race war. Looks like MTV is a willing propaganda channel for the government now. If this video and show were hosted by white people, it would be shut down faster than you could blink. The Progressives want us divided along racial lines and they will use every tool they have to do it. MTV is just their way of getting to young minds.

White Shame

From Top Right News:

Does it get any sicker than this? Here is the product of nearly 60 years of Progressive indoctrination in our schools, media and culture.

MTV will air a show later this month entitled White People which shows young white Americans crying on camera over their “white privilege” and publicly shaming them for “what they’ve done in America”.

No, this is not a joke. The documentary is hosted by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas, an illegal immigrant and amnesty activist who has worked for the Washington Post and the Huffington Post.

The trailer for the show, which has been widely criticized by YouTube respondents, features white people expressing angst about how they are desperate not to appear “racist” or “offend people.”

According to Kimberly Ricci, the documentary forces the participants “to internalize what they’ve done in America” – in other words, this a huge exercise in white guilt tripping for public consumption.

An MTV write up of the show also explains how Vargas talks to young Native Americans who feel that European settlers did not ‘save the country’.

“They are the ones who invaded. They are the ones who took,” says Vargas. In the interests of balance, when will Vargas be fronting a show called Black People that collectively blames all black people for black crime statistics, including the fact that black people in America commit over half of homicides despite making up only 13 per cent of the population?

How about the fact that despite being outnumbered by whites five to one, blacks commit eight times more crimes against whites than vice-versa?

How about the fact that interracial rapes are almost exclusively black on white?

How about the Barbary slave trade, under which over 1 million white Christian Europeans were enslaved in North Africa until the middle of the 18th century?

Are black people going to be shown crying on camera having been shamed into taking responsibility for all of this? No, because that would be racist. But according to MTV and Vargas, subjecting someone to trial by media purely because of their skin color is perfectly acceptable – so long as they are white.

This documentary represents the culmination of years of race-baiting and racial division which is being driven by the mass media and the Obama White House, tensions which have rapidly accelerated since the Ferguson and Baltimore riots.

Responses to the video trailer on YouTube were savage, with the clip receiving twice as many ‘thumbs down’ in comparison to ‘thumbs up’.

“I’m black, even I know this show is straight up racist. Only because it’s stereotyping white people, all white INDIVIDUALS are not like that,” wrote one respondent.

“You want an uncomfortable conversation on race? Let’s talk about violent crime stats shall we? No? I get it, you only want white people to feel uncomfortable,” added another.

“Fuck you MTV, I will NEVER apologize for the skin I was born with, nor will I apologize for being a male, or for being straight,” another respondent asserted.

However, many in the liberal media are celebrating the show, with Kristen Yoonsoo remarking how pleased she is about the fact that, “lots of white people tears lie ahead.”

“It’s always a good time poking fun at white people,” she concludes.

They are cherry picking whites who willingly express faux grief over their race and things done in the past they had nothing to do with. MTV goes out and finds Native Americans who say what they are programmed to say. They use professional victims and those with a political agenda that want to tear us apart. They even have the nerve to use an illegal, Marxist alien to host the show. This video is hugely unpopular on YouTube which should give MTV a clue that this is offensive and just stupid. But no… they now have a political agenda and have a point to make. Whatever happened to music videos and entertainment? Or has the government just co-opted all major media outlets now? The fact that Vargas is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist is a very bad joke as well. Cry me a river and get over your racist selves. We don’t have to be ashamed because we are white, straight, conservative or Christian. MTV can stuff it and have richly earned their weasel status along with Vargas.

Farid Fata
Physician And Medicare Fraud Farid Fata!

Ask Marion: I nominate oncologist Dr. Farid Feta, who gave $35 million in needless chemotherapy to patients – some of whom didn’t even have cancer, for Weasel of the Week. Even when patients arrived at Fata’s office with urgent medical conditions Fata directed that chemotherapy be administered before he would allow them to go to the hospital.

He has been sentenced to 45-years in prison after poisoning over 500 patients with needless or excessive Cancer treatments in a scheme to collect millions of dollars from insurance companies.

Although this is an extreme case of fraud and malpractice, if you look at our entire western medical system, and more specifically the treatment of Cancer, it is full of fraud and questionable treatment decisions that are considered conventional, are approved by the system or are ignored.

Having Cancer is a battle within your own body, but having Cancer in America is having a battle within your body as well as with the AMA, the FDA, the FTC, Big Agri, Big Pharma, Big Business and Big Government and usually with your own doctors who are without many of the tools that practitioners have outside the U.S., as well as often having the wrong tools. Add a monster like Dr. Farid Fata and there is no hope which is all that keeps severely ill patients going.

The prosecutors did a fantastic job in this case, but many victims were disappointed with the 45-year sentence considering all of the lives that Fata ruined and all the grave markers out there that all the victims’ families have to look at. Life without parole or the death penalty seems more fitting to most!

Pee Aitch Dee And Vampire Advocate Dr, Deviant, AKA DR. D. J. Williams!

The Independent Sentinel: Dr. D. J. Williams, yet another useless sociology researcher, wants us to accept vampires as normal. We mustn’t stereotype them.

“Most vampires believe they were born that way; they don’t choose this,” said Dr. D. J. Williams, the study’s lead researcher and the director of sociology at Idaho State.

“The message is to not take things at face value, to be more aware of our stereotypes and our judgments, maybe focus on commonalities that people have,” Williams said in an interview with MTV. “People understand themselves in very different ways, and that’s OK. We’re all human. We all have a lot of things in common. I think a little more awareness of our own biases and more cultural sensitivity — more compassion — that’s really the important thing underlying all of this,” he said.

If they feel they’re vampires, they must be vampires. There’s no other explanation!

Sadly, “nearly all participants were distrustful of social workers and helping professionals and preferred to ‘stay in the coffin’ for fear of being misunderstood, labeled, and potentially having to face severe repercussions to their lives.”

I know, why don’t we make them a protected class!

In his bio on the Idaho State University, it says, “D J is a leading expert on deviant leisure (including both positive and negative forms), thus he is sometimes affectionately known as “Dr. Deviant.” He appreciates human diversity and creative expression.”

How did this guy get a job at Idaho State? Are they loons now too?

Pravda-on-the Hudson And The Compilers Of It’s Faux ‘Best Seller‘ List

JoshuaPundit: Sometimes it’s small, sleazy actions that best bring out the true Weasel behavior.

Ted Cruz has a brand new book out, “A Time For Truth,” published on June 30. Unlike most of these sort of books, it’s an autobiography Ted Cruz wrote himself sans ghostwriter, and it really does give you an understanding of whom he is, what he believes and why. And it’s also a pretty good read.

The book sold 11,854 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen Bookscan’s hardcover sale numbers. That’s more than 18 of the 20 titles that appeared on the New York Time’s bestseller list for the week ending July 4. Aziz Ansari’s “Modern Romance,” which was #2 on the list, sold fewer than 10,000 copies. Ann Coulter’s “Adios America,” at #11, sold just over half as many copies that week. It is currently #4 on the Wall Street Journal hardcover list, #4 on the Publisher’s Weekly hardcover list, #4 on the Bookscan hardcover list, and #1 on the Conservative Book Club list.

Ted Cruz’s book did not appear on the New York Time’s bestseller list at all and still hasn’t even though it’s still selling in the top five.

When Harper Collins inquired why the Times was the Cruz book, they were told by Times spokesmouth Eileen Murphy that the book “didn’t meet our standards for inclusion.”

“Our goal is that the list reflect authentic best sellers, so we look at and analyze not just numbers, but patterns of sales for every book.” She then accused Harper Collins of arranging bogus bulk sales, claiming that “the overwhelming preponderance of evidence was that sales were limited to strategic bulk purchases,”

No less than Amazon, the largest Internet retailer in the country outed this for the horse manure it was:

“As of yesterday, ‘A Time for Truth’ was the number 13 best-selling book, and there is no evidence of unusual bulk purchase activity in our sales data,” Sarah Gelman, Amazon’s director of press relations, said in an email.

Amazon’s findings match those of HarperCollins, the book’s publisher, which said Friday that it had “investigated the sales pattern” for Cruz’s book and found “no evidence of bulk orders or sales through any retailer or organization.” Moments after that announcement, Cruz’s campaign issued a press release accusing the Times of lying and calling on the paper to provide evidence of bulk purchasing or else formally apologize.

“The Times is presumably embarrassed by having their obvious partisan bias called out. But their response — alleging ‘strategic bulk purchases’ — is a blatant falsehood,” Cruz campaign spokesperson Rick Tyler said in a statement Friday. “The evidence is directly to the contrary. In leveling this false charge, the Times has tried to impugn the integrity of Senator Cruz and of his publisher HarperCollins.”

Ironically, according to Keith Urbahn, the book’s literary agent, the Times’ weasel actions are actually helping sales.

Well, there it is. What a despicable group of Weasels… ANY OF THEM COULD WIN! Check back Thursday to see which Weasel walks off with the statuette of shame!

Forum: What Advice Would You Give The Presidential Candidate Of Your Choice?

The Watcher’s Council

2016 Election

Every week on Monday morning, the Council and our invited guests weigh in at the Watcher’s Forum with short takes on a major issue of the day, the culture or daily living. This week’s question: What Advice Would You Give The Presidential Candidate Of Your Choice?

Don Surber: My advice to Marco Rubio: Smile more and be positive. Resist the temptation to play to the reportorial bleachers; they hate you and want to destroy you. Be kind to your fellow Republicans. Never say an unkind word about any of them. Ever.

GrEaT sAtAn”S gIrLfRiEnD: Currently in limbo – I really dig Marco. And GOV Perry and to a little lesser extent SEN Cruz and GOV Walker. I also dig how the Donald fired off blistering cuts on many of them. The guy has a point.

Just saw a bit on the telly where SEN Rick Santorum rather unnimbly ducked, weaved and dodged specifics on handling ISIS. It was painful to watch and listen.

While the good Sen is not my cat thus far – it does bring up a raison d’etre for gooder advice – especially on ISIS.

1. Make it big.

Loudly and proudly declare the goal will be to chuck their carcasses onto the same pile as Waffen Ss and Kamikazees. Terms like Annihilation, utter destruction mixed in with picturesque prose about repeatedly raining destruction on them sans modesty or restraint.

Also make it clear, internat’l borders in this case are only pretty lines on a map. There is no where ISIS will be able to raise the flag without American military power being in their face.

2. Go big.

Party it up. Announce their will be massive Bar B Ques
(beef, chicken and pork) held in Raaqa the very day their HQ falls, that American troops will be on the ground in newly acquired turf in the ME for eons if needed.

LOL any and all ME nations fear about the American military seizing oil wealth, bases and turf. After all, America was invited back into the Middle East – simply because the nations there are too weak, too disorganized and unserious about destroying ISIS.

3. Mean and Scary

American combat troops in large numbers on the ground killing ISIS for the duration and afterwards

4. If ISIS is truly a threat – then treat it like one with all the disproportionate force available.

Laura Rambeau Lee, Right Reason: Unfortunately, I have yet to find the presidential candidate of my choice. But I would like to tell “The Donald” to just go away.

JoshuaPundit: I have no presidential candidate at this point, but I admit to leaning towards Scott Walker simply because the floor beneath governor’s chair in Wisconsin is littered with the skulls of his enemies who did everything they could to destroy him. The idea of someone in the White House with actual successful executive experience and real accomplishments intrigues me, I admit.

Aside from telling most of the candidates in both parties to go find honest work instead, what I’d advise anyone who wants the job to do is to level with the American people. That doesn’t mean ridiculous sound bite applause lines guaranteed to make headlines – the last thing we need is another Ross Perot – but real solutions to real problems… and that’s also going to mean attacking Mrs. Clinton head on and linking her to the Obama regime’s failures. Politics, after all, is war by other mean.

The Independent Sentinel: I’d like to give advice to Hillary Clinton. Democrats are always very generous about giving advice to Republicans which they feel compelled to follow and the least I can do is pay it back.

The first thing Hillary should do is promise to approve the Keystone Pipeline with an Executive Order the day she takes office. She should follow that up by approving every nuclear plant application and canceling all new climate change rules, especially now that we know an Ice Age is coming.

If I were her, I’d promise to fill up GITMO with all these terrorist wannabes we keep growing at home.

Her agenda should include lowering taxes on the wealthy, declaring all 50 states right-to-work and she should admit the war on women and the whole pay equity issue are bogus.

Oh, and she should immediately promise to close the borders.

Finally, she should do away with minimum wages, right after she says she plans to declare war on a few countries.

Ask Marion: My advice to the person that was not exactly my first choice for the GOP presidential nomination until lately is to “keep doing what you are are doing!!”.

I have become more and more of a Donald Trump fan day by the day and I don’t seem to be alone!! Clint Eastwood jumped on the Trump train.

The Donald knows business and finance; he knows many of both the political and business leaders from around the world; he has the guts to say what he thinks and what a lot of Americans want to hear; he has name recognition; he is actually pro enforcing American law and securing the borders; he can self-finance so he won’t owe anyone favors if he is elected; the media hates him so you know he is on to something; and Trump loves America and Capitalism. Sounds like a great presidential candidate to me!!

Trump has guts and understands showmanship. So while the liberal media kept trying to feed everyone the idea that his trip to Los Angeles and Arizona would be disastrous, it turned out exactly the opposite.

Donald Trump is looking less and less like a wild card and more and more like he could win!

The Council Has Spoken! Our Watcher’s Council Results – 07/10/15

The Watcher’s Council

The Council has spoken, the votes have been cast and the results are in for this week’s Watcher’s Council match-up.

Before we get started, tonight our thoughts and prayers are with Paula Aydt and her husband, our own Greg Aydt from Rhymes with Right.

Get well soon Paula… we’re all rooting for you.

Let’s stop kidding ourselves that Greek debt is the Euro’s key problem. With Greece gone, who’s next ? – Alex Morritt

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_nEAkWOufFU/T366WMxCdrI/AAAAAAAABOg/easpV-8FMnM/s1600/Joshua_Dali_Sun.jpg

This week’s winning essay, Joshuapundit’s Greece’s New Trojan Horse, And What It Means To America, are my thoughts on what’s really behind the current financial crisis, the underlying reasons for it and why Americans ought to be paying attention.

Here’s a slice:

The Greeks, faced with what amounted to an ultimatum from the EU rejected further austerity measures and decided yesterday not to accept the EU’s proposal by a whopping 61%. It’s not hard to see why.

Greece’s debt now exceeds 177% of their GDP.They owe massive amounts to their bondholders and other creditors, whom already took a huge haircut for the last bailout. In order to pay the next payment due on what they already owe, they needed yet another bailout and what Greek’s left wing PM Alexis Tsipras called ‘debt relief.’ That essentially means they want EU nations like Germany to pay off part of Greece’s debt.

In response, the EU, led by German Chancellor Angela Merkel offered a take or leave it proposal that would have given Greece enough money to pay off the IMF, which will then give them the money to pay the European Central Bank, and so on and so on. But the EU also demanded severe austerity measures to do it, including spending cuts, reforms to Greece’s expansive pension and social welfare system and ‘labor reform’, which means more cuts in civil service jobs. That’s what the EU wanted in exchange for yet another 240 billion euro ($262.7 billion) bailout.

To add an additional bit of arm twisting, the European Central Bank (ECB)took the step of cutting of all cash to Greece’s banks, which are dependent on it since they were connected to the system. The banks are now closed, with ATM deposits limited to 60 euros (about $66) per day if you can find an ATM that still dispenses cash. Greeks are reverting to barter to purchase food and ordinary household supplies, and Greek banks are forecast to run out of money totally sometime this week.

What’s really going on is sheer politics. Greece’s debt is never going to be paid off, ever. And the EU knows it. What they’re really after is damage control, AKA a modicum of control over Greek fiscal policy to limit the fallout.

The EU is in something of a bind. If they cut Greece some slack, other countries with major debt problems like Portugal, Spain and Italy who received bail outs but are making their payments and coping with austerity are very likely to reconsider making their own payments. After all, if Greece can get away with this, why not them? And there’s also the factor of someone like Merkel having to face angry German taxpayers if Greece slides away from its obligation and they have to pick up the slack once more.

By the same token, if Greece is forced out of the Eurozone, it sets a precedent for others to do the same thing and have the whole over-leveraged structure topple over.

So the result of this Sunday’s referendum means there’s going to be one of two outcomes.

Either the EU will cave in and make a better offer, which is exactly the argument PM Alexis Tsipras used to urge Greeks to vote no. Or the EU will decide it’s had enough of Greece, and Greece exits the euro.

From Greece’s point of view, either way works, really.Again, here’s why, in a nutshell:

http://www.steynonline.com/pics/large/1357.jpg

Whatever happens, Greece is in for some pain, but I think they’d probably be better off simply dropping the Euro, which is exactly what I wrote in 2012.

Dumping the euro and adopting the Greek drachma, which would of course devalue naturally would have several salutary effects once the initial chaos subsided. Greece would no longer be locked into a fixed exchange rate, which would make its exports more affordable and undoubtedly create a boom in tourism, one of Greece’s chief industries. Plus, let’s face it, no one is going to lend the Greeks money or buy their debt for some time to come at anything like decent rates, so they might be better off just wiping the slate clean with a bankruptcy and starting fresh.

Not only that, but if the Greeks are smart, they will institute their own form of austerity reforms. The costs of government is nearly half of Greece’s GDP right now (49.3%). A great deal of money could be saved simply be revaluing civil service salaries and pensions in drachmas instead of euros at a government set exchange rate that could be far less than the actual market rate.

There’s an interesting lesson to be learned here, with an example from the other side of the Mediterranean.

Much more at the link, including why America ought to be paying close attention.

In our non-Council category, we had a tie between Robert Tracinski and Benjamin Domenech’s joint effort at the Federalist, Welcome To Culture War 4.0: The Coming Overreach and Israeli author, columnist and thinker Caroline Glick’s The Iranian-American Nuclear Project, both submitted by The Watcher, yours truly.

Yep, I got to break a tie between two great pieces I singled out as Watcher’s picks from some writers I really like, even if I don’t always agree with them 100%.

Robert And Ben’s piece in the Federalist made a cogent point a lot of people need to hear right now… that while the culture war will continue to be waged by the prog Fascists and we need to be prepared for it, tyrants always overreach and that we need to be prepared to take advantage of that too.

La Glick’s essay chronicles the hard facts of the Obama Administration’s caving in to virtually all of Iran’s demands while ‘negotiating’ an agreement that doesn’t actually exist yet after a year and a half of talks and contains little of anything we were told it would contain back in November 2013. Meanwhile, it’s provided the Iranian regime with two things it really needed… time to work on their nuclear weapons project and billions in cash to keep them afloat.

Actually, I recommend you read both pieces carefully, but I went for Caroline Glick’s piece because I think the hard info in it really needs to be out there more, particularly given the way Secretary Kerry and our Dear Leader will try to spin things whether it falls apart with a piece of paper to wave ala’ Munich 1938 or not.

Here are this week’s full results. Only Bookworm Room and Rhymes With Right were unable to vote this week, but neither was subject to the mandatory 2/3 vote penalty for note voting:

https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5539/14536903164_46b6cbe4a4_z.jpg
Former Actor, Dirt Highway Explorer, Professional Victim And Racist George Takai!!

The Noisy Room: My nomination this week goes to raving moonbat, George Takei, who frankly should have stayed in space, his last frontier. Uber Leftist actor and activist George Takei, known for his role as Hikaru Sulu in “Star Trek,” said that he and his husband are “overjoyed” by the Supreme Court’s legalization of same-sex marriage. But his shocking comments about conservative Justice Clarence Thomas were just over the rainbow on this one:

“He is a clown in blackface sitting on the Supreme Court. He gets me that angry,” Takei said, visibly flustered as he railed against the African American justice. ”For him to say slaves had dignity … I mean, doesn’t he know slaves were chained? That they were whipped on the back?”

Takei shows his idiocy in all its glory here. He was railing against Thomas’ dissent on the gay marriage ruling:

“Human dignity has long been understood in this country to be innate. When the Framers proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence that ‘all men are created equal’ and ‘endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,’ they referred to a vision of mankind in which all humans are created in the image of God and therefore of inherent worth. That vision is the foundation upon which this Nation was built.

The corollary of that principle is that human dignity cannot be taken away by the government. Slaves did not lose their dignity (any more than they lost their humanity) because the government allowed them to be enslaved. Those held in internment camps did not lose their dignity because the government confined them. And those denied governmental benefits certainly do not lose their dignity because the government denies them those benefits. The government cannot bestow dignity, and it cannot take it away.”

Thomas, who is unarguably a brilliant litigator and a great man, made a compelling dissent on the ruling. It was epic. Takei’s comments were just profoundly biased and stupid. He called Thomas an “embarrassment” who doesn’t deserve to serve on the Supreme Court, citing in a separate op-ed his own experience living in an internment camp as a child. He would have done better to actually study constitutional law and parse his words more judiciously rather than coming unglued in a Liberal frenzy of incoherence and uninformed lunacy. I agree with one young black conservative woman out there who did a video after the Supreme Court ruling in answer to racist Liberals: “It takes a certain kind of racist to decide that black people can’t have their own opinion.” For being an unconstitutional racist and bigot, Takei has earned a Golden Weasel. Damn it, Jim! He’s earned it!!

Puma By Design: One of actor and member of the gay gestapo, George Takei’s pink jackboots ended up in his mouth after missing the throat of Supreme Court Justice, Clarence Thomas, last week when Takei went on a racist rant against Thomas for his dissenting opinion in the Supreme Court ruling on Obergefell v. Hodges legalizing same sex marriage in all fifty states.

GEORGE TAKEI: “He is a clown in blackface sitting on the Supreme Court. He gets me that angry. He doesn’t belong there. And for him to say, slaves have dignity. I mean, doesn’t he know that slaves were in chains? That they were whipped on the back. If he saw the movie 12 Years a Slave, you know, they were raped. And he says they had dignity as slaves or – My parents lost everything that they worked for, in the middle of their lives, in their 30s. His business, my father’s business, our home, our freedom and we’re supposed to call that dignified? Marched out of our homes at gun point. I mean, this man does not belong on the Supreme Court. He is an embarrassment. He is a disgrace to America.”

In fact, Takei’s rant was so reprehensible that CNN’s Communist race baiter, Marc Lamont Hill, criticized Takei for his “black face” rant on CNN and Twitter (see below) while making it clear that Hill was in no way standing up for Thomas considered by Hill and other Blacks on the left to be a sellout to his race and the Progressive plantation.

https://youtu.be/LyJyBwOrfrI

On Friday Takei walked back his remarks by posting an apology on his Facebook page (excerpt below):

I recently was asked by a reporter about Justice Clarence Thomas’s dissent in the marriage equality cases, in which he wrote words that really got under my skin, by suggesting that the government cannot take away human dignity through slavery, or though internment. In my mind that suggested that this meant he felt the government therefore shouldn’t be held accountable, or should do nothing in the face of gross violations of dignity. When asked by a reporter about the opinion, I was still seething, and I referred to him as a “clown in blackface” to suggest that he had abdicated and abandoned his heritage. This was not intended to be racist, but rather to evoke a history of racism in the theatrical arts. While I continue to vehemently disagree with Justice Thomas, the words I chose, said in the heat of anger, were not carefully considered.

Takei’s apology is nothing more than quintessential dribble typical of Marxist antagonists whose jackboot of bigotry and intolerance ends up in their mouths instead of on the neck of their targets.

Nice Deb: George Takei deserves mega weasel points for calling Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas a “clown in blackface.”

Takei went on the racist rant Monday during an interview in Phoenix, in response to Thomas’ comments regarding the Supreme Court decision on gay marriage:

“He is a clown in blackface sitting on the Supreme Court. He gets me that angry. He doesn’t belong there,” Takei said, later adding, “This man does not belong on the Supreme Court. He is an embarrassment. He is a disgrace to America. I’ll say it on camera.”

He eventually “apologized” on Facebook in the most weaselly fashion imaginable – by claiming victimhood himself.

Very badly done – and weaselly to boot.

Yes. George Takei’s pinhead rant certainly took the honors this week! Ah, the joys of being a perennial victim, mental health issues aside. Come up and get your statuette, Mr. Sulu, I’m sure this Golden Weasel will really send you into orbit in the future as you explore strange galaxies and boldly go where no man has gone before… or something like that.

Well, there it is.

Check back next Tuesday to see who next week’s nominees for Weasel of the Week are!

Make sure to tune in every Monday for the Watcher’s Forum and remember, every Wednesday, the Council has its weekly contest with the members nominating two posts each, one written by themselves and one written by someone from outside the group for consideration by the whole Council. The votes are cast by the Council and the results are posted on Friday morning.

It’s a weekly magazine of some of the best stuff written in the blogosphere and you won’t want to miss it… or any of the other fantabulous Watcher’s Council content.

Our Watcher’s Council Nominations – Down To The River Edition

The Watcher’s Council

Day by Day Cartoon

In view of recent events…

Welcome to the Watcher’s Council, a blogging group consisting of some of the most incisive blogs in the ‘sphere and the longest running group of its kind in existence. Every week, the members nominate two posts each, one written by themselves and one written by someone from outside the group for consideration by the whole Council. Then we vote on the best two posts, with the results appearing on Friday morning.

Council News:

This week, The Pirate’s Cove, Wolf Howling, Gates Of Vienna and Seraphic Secret earned honorable mention status with some great articles.

You can, too! Want to see your work appear on the Watcher’s Council homepage in our weekly contest listing? Didn’t get nominated by a Council member? No worries.

To bring something to my attention, simply head over to Joshuapundit and post the title and a link to the piece you want considered along with an email address (mandatory, but of course it won’t be published) in the comments section no later than Monday 6 PM PST in order to be considered for our honorable mention category. Then return the favor by creating a post on your site linking to the Watcher’s Council contest for the week when it comes out on Wednesday morning.

Simple, no?

It’s a great way of exposing your best work to Watcher’s Council readers and Council members while grabbing the increased traffic and notoriety. And how good is that, eh?

So, let’s see what we have for you this week…
